Part 2
6) The earrings of the victim had been stolen before. Jimmy had nothing to do with the previous crime
The earrings Ms Williams was wearing had been stolen before. Ms Williams’ boyfriend at that time, Walter Gilliard, stated that Ms.Williams had shown him who had stolen the earrings and that this person was not Jimmy. (Mr Gilliard was able to buy the earrings back for his girlfriend, as he was able to find the person who had bought them from the thief. From that person Mr Gilliard then bought the earrings back).
7) No Motive
As the founder and member of the singing group “Sensation” Jimmy had a bright future ahead of him.
George Pratt, producer and manager of “G.W. Management inc.” stated that he had an oral contract with Jimmy and was in process of providing a written contract with Jimmy to produce his music.
Next to a promising music career, Jimmy was awaiting the birth of his second daughter, who was born approximately one week after his incarceration. Sadly, until today he has not been able to spend a full day with her.
Therefore, Jimmy had no reason whatsoever to commit such a crime and knowingly risk his future.
8) No confession
Until today Jimmy affirms his innocence. He also refused to agree to any deals that could reduce his death sentence to a life-long sentence or a lesser punishment. The most important thing is to prove his innocence to the court so that he will be set free because of that.
When rumours began to spread about Jimmy being involved in that crime he immediately went to police to be available for questions. They sent him home, saying they don't need him. This shows that Jimmy had nothing to hide. A guilty person wouldn't have walked to police, ready to answer questions.
9) Hidden evidence
Today, 14 years after the death of Chedell Williams, Jimmy's attorneys were able to recover more and more evidence that exonerates Jimmy, including material that has been hidden by the prosecutor for many years. This material points towards other suspects and shows that the investigations in this case have been corrupt and manipulative. This material we cannot yet represent on this homepage due to the on-going investigations. This recovered evidence leads us to believe that there might be more evidence being held back in order to harm Jimmy.
10) The Pressure surrounding the case
Jimmy’s case is a so- called “High profile case”- a case that aroused a lot of furor. Not only the media, but mostly the society was shocked by the tragic death of the 17-year- old Chedell Williams. Therefore, the police and the prosecution felt great pressure to find a perpetrator as soon as possible, which they could present to the media. Through imprecise and inattentive procedures, manipulation and false testimonies they “formed” their own perpetrator. Unfortunately, Jimmy became a victim of these advancements and now has to suffer for a crime he did not commit. This also means that the true perpetrator(s) still walk around in freedom!
To conclude, Jimmy’s conviction is based primarily on three witnesses, whose statements are contradictory. Also, the forced and false statement by Charles Thompson had a significant impact on the jury, leading to Jimmy’s conviction.
